WHAT'S ON

Handel's Messiah

St Bernard's Catholic Grammar School

Sat 28 Apr to Sat 28 Apr

Ever since this iconic work was first performed in Dublin in 1742, Handel’s Messiah has stood as the centrepiece of the English choral tradition, with its magnificent choruses, tuneful recitatives and beautiful arias. It offers a non-dramatic presentation of Christ as the world’s saviour in music which bears intense meaning in every bar and has a visionary quality in its evolution from darkness to light.

It contains some of the most uplifting music of all time, including I know that my Redeemer liveth, For unto us a Child is born and the Hallelujah Chorus.
