Join us for a day of free creative workshops and activities as we takeover the Curve to celebrate the launch of a brand-new exhibition Bring Your Own Future.
Throughout Autumn 2017 artists Close and Remote have been working with local residents to re-paint the image of Slough through watercolours and the 360 world of virtual reality.
Now it’s your chance to take part!
Bring Your Own Future - Takeover Day
Explore new ways of seeing and re-imagining your town through a fantastic line-up of artists and performers.
Virtual Reality Taster (11am – 11.45am / 11.45am – 12.30pm)
Step in to a world of digital art and explore your own visions with our virtual reality taster sessions.
For ages 14+
Street Training Adventure (12pm – 1.30pm)
Discover how to make your way to work or a trip to the shops a creative and joyful experience. Hop, skip and jump your way through our town centre with Lottie Child and explore Slough in a playful Street Training adventure.
For all ages
Mad As A Hatter - Performance Workshop (12.30pm – 2.30pm)
Artist Filippos Tsitsopoulos would like to invite you to see the world through an alternate reality and join him for this performance workshop, exploring a range of performance techniques as well as using masks to look at the world through 'watercolour eyes'.
For ages 14+
Bring Your Own Future Artist Talk (12.45pm – 1.30pm)
Take a peek into the world of Bring Your Own Future with Close and Remote artists Sophie Mellor and Simon Poulter. Join them for a short talk about how they created the exhibited artwork, from street space to digital space
Poetry Workshop (1.45pm – 3.15pm)
Find your voice with artist, activist and educator Liv Wynter’s inspirational poetry workshop to create a new poem for Slough.
For ages 13+
Watercolour Drop In Sessions (11am - 12pm, 3pm - 4pm)
Try your hand at watercolour painting with artists Close and Remote, and learn some basic watercolour techniques. Suitable for all ages.
All workshops are FREE. Places are very limited and we advise people to book in advance to ensure availability.

Explore the collision of traditional watercolour painting and virtual reality in this new exhibition. Try out our Google Cardboard headsets and see new 360º views created by and with the people of Slough.
